Tips To Register SIM Card TM Successfully

I am an old Globe and TM SIM user. I have undergone the SIM registration several times and have had an extraordinary experience with it. Here are some practical tips that I always follow to register a SIM without any issue:

  • Make sure that your ID photo is clear, updated, and valid. The holder’s signature and photo must be visible on the photo.
  • Always upload a clear and fresh selfie. Avoid using the filters on the selfie.
  • The maximum required size of files is 4 MB. Make sure that your files are not larger than the maximum size.
  • Always provide valid, up-to-date, official, and accurate details. Never provide the wrong details.
  • Do not use the public Wifi for safe registration. The usage of public wifi increases the risks.
  • In case of any issue, contact the TM SIM customer service. Report your issue and get help from the professional team.

These are the practical precautions that will prove helpful for successful registration.

Why Is SIM Registration Necessary?

After the Philippine government passed the SIM Registration ACT, every user must register their SIM cards. The unregistered SIM will be automatically deactivated. Therefore, you must register the SIM to use it.

Additionally, the government imposes several penalties for violating the rule. The penalty details are as follows:

  • You will face 2 years in prison and up to ₱300,000 in fines in case of providing false details and IDs during registration.
  • Refusing to register the SIM card without any valid reason will lead to a ₱100,000 to ₱1 million fine.
  • Violations of data confidentiality by telcos, agents, or employees may result in ₱500,000 to ₱4 million in fines.

It is good to register your SIM on time and avoid all the fines and penalties.
